This is a place where I like to vent about the stupid things that I encounter. Enjoy!

Free Stuff

Lately, I have come to learn how to get free stuff when I am not happy. So far I have racked up $30 at Corner Bakery, $25 at Best Buy, two meals at In-N-Out, $10 at Olive Garden, free business cards and various discounts and desserts at restaurants.

I had a philosophy teacher tell me once that a well worded letter can get you very far if you are displeased. She once got free airfare as well as a free weekend stay in Las Vegas because she wrote a letter to the hotel and airline about her bad experience. That stuck with me, what better way to make up for a bad thing than to get something for free.
The trick is, you throw in the convo or letter that you are less likely to return to the place because of the experience. No need to get angry, I also usually throw in a "I understand that things can go wrong", that's a good one.
It's all about working the system as well, you have to know that if you e-mail a complaint in that they keep track of your name and so you are less likely to get free stuff ever again. But if you are at the location and they give you a certificate right then and there, you can always go back with another complaint at sometime, or complain on-line.
So I will enjoy my free lunch from Corner Bakery tomorrow, because they can NEVER get my to go order right!
